Auckland Diwali Festival
27 October - 14 November 2020
The Auckland Diwali Festival will now be held from 27 October – 14 November at venues across Auckland, enhancing the Diwali Community Programme.
The Diwali team is busy developing this new festival programme which may include movie nights, workshops, cooking classes and panel discussions on top of the exciting usual community programme!
Auckland Diwali Festival will be delivered differently this year, following a decision made in consultation with the Diwali Advisory Group.
The Auckland Diwali Festival will now be celebrated over three weeks, from 27 October to 14 November 2020, at various arts, community and events venues. The revised festival will enhance the current community-based programme with additional features. While the details have not been finalised, that may include film nights, cooking classes, and workshops.
As we develop the new Auckland Diwali Community Programme, there is an opportunity for you to potentially share your passions, skills and knowledge.
We are seeking expressions of interest from the community to deliver smaller, interactive experiences. These could be workshops, classes, food demonstrations, games, storytelling, panel discussions, or crafts that are free for the community to take part in.
To be included in the programme as a workshop host, the closing date for indicating your interest is Thursday, 8 October 2020 – by 5pm.
It’s important to keep in mind that any interactive experience ideas you put forward must be suitable for smaller group sizes that meet the Government’s Alert Level 2 guidelines for gatherings.
